I´m not surprised that DELL closed down the op in ES. I´ve never seen such a dismal "hiring" process run by kids. And at such a turnover rate, changes had to follow sooner or later. On top "management" were playing games with prospects by calling them months later, luring them back in with jobs already filled just to fill the "quota".

Now you gonna get "George Orwell 2009" - total control by a carnivore software to achieve performance results. Intelligent Sykes workers know what I am talking about (like i.e. getting logged how many times you take a piss)

I witnessed  the marked part, they just called people months later after they received the approval to continue with the hiring process.

Dell planned sale of computer factory

The computer company Dell Inc intends to sell its factories worldwide with the aim of reducing costs and increasing profits, writes Wall Street Journal.

In recent months the company will turn to suppliers of computer equipment with offers for sale to factories.
Familiar with the situation expect Dell to sell most or even all of its factories within the next 18 months.

The buyer will most likely be a large supplier of computers, most of whom are based in Asia.

Initially, the factories have been tailored to the market of personal computers, driven by corporate customers who order a large number of desktop computers.

Over the past three years, however, growth has been mainly on destination of portable computers sold in the commercial chains by-case basis.

Texas-based Dell lags behind its competitors in the implementation of our integrated system for the production of portable computers.

The company probably will face several obstacles in the sale of factories. Buyers may have some fluctuations on the purchase of factories in places where labour costs are high, as the U.S. example.

Furthermore, some of the facilities may be bound by contracts with local governments. The plant of Dell in North Carolina for example, receives several million dollars from the remission of taxes with the condition the factory to meet certain targets for jobs and local investment by 2015.

Although the factories of Dell is still considered effective in the production of industrial quantities of desktop personal computers, factories, which are owned by companies not considered to be the cheapest way to produce laptops.

Es cierto, eso paso ayer. Por un periodo de 2 minutos las acciones de Dell costaron 0.10 ctvs.

Un chero casi chilla porque ya no son DELL ya... bueno mara clavada que solo por ser una marca les duele... pues a mi me dio risa que en el Diario de Hoy salia el reportaje que DELL era ahora SGS y a la par que Chuck Sykes viene a inaugurar el 3er edificio
